Kinghams AuctioneersAlexandre Bigot (1862 - 1927) had a doctorate in chemistry before he decided to produce ceramics after visiting the Paris World Fair in 1889. His company employed more than 150 people, who, in addition to his own designs, realized designs by Jules Lavirotte, Hector Guimard, Louis Majorelle, Henri Sauvage, Henry van de Velde, Auguste Perret, Andre Arfvidson and Anatole de Baudot. His large animal frieze, which he realized for the 1900 World's Fair together with Paul Jouve, attracted international attention.
