Tony Binder, attr., Nackte Orientalin Ganzfigurendarstellung einer nackten, rassigen Schönheit mit langem schwarzen Haar, goldenen Creolen und über dem Kopf verschränkten Armen, vor einer Mauer mit Rankwerk, lasierende, partiell gering pastose Malerei, Öl auf Leinwand, rechts undeutlich signiert und wohl datiert "Binder 9T4 [1894?]", rückseitig auf dem Keilrahmen Etikettfragmente, Altersspuren, in einem orientalisch anmutenden Jugendstilrahmen gefasst, Falzmaße ca. 120 x 50 cm. Künstlerinfo: auch Anton oder Toni Binder, österreichischer Fotograf, Orientmaler, Graphiker und Illustrator (1868 Wien bis 1941 Nördlingen), als Maler weitestgehend autodidaktisch gebildet in Wien, München und Paris, in Paris künstlerisch gefördert von Jacques Alexandre Antoine Bernard, genannt Camille Boiry (1871-1952), beeinflusst von Ferenc Eisenhut und Charles Wilda, lebte bei seiner Mutter in Konstantinopel (Istanbul) und unternahm von hier aus bis 1901 Studienreisen nach Italien (Mailand, Neapel, Rom, Florenz, Venedig), 1890-92 erste Reise nach Kairo/Ägypten, wo er sich im Badeort Heluan bei Kairo niederließ und hier bis 1914 regelmäßig weilte, 1894 zeitweise in Istanbul, später wieder in Kairo, 1899 Eheschließung mit Maria Reiser, Tochter eines deutschen Fotografen, in Alexandria, führte mit dem Schwiegervater ab 1899 ein Fotoatelier "Reiser & Binder" in Alexandria, 1906 weitestgehende Hinwendung zur Malerei, 1905-06 und 1909 Aufenthalte in Griechenland, 1911 Reise über Frankreich (Marseille, Lyon, Paris) nach England (London), 1912 Reise nach Rhodos und Istanbul, ab ca. 1912 mäzenatisch gefördert durch den letzten Vizekönig des Khedivats Ägypten Abbas Hilmi Paschaab (1874-1944) und zu dessen Hoffotograf und Hofmaler ernannt, 1913 Reise nach Luxor, zwischenzeitlich Aufenthalte in Wien und München, bei Ausbruch des 1. Weltkriegs 1914 Aufenthalt auf der Isle of Wight und bis 1919 britische Internierung, nach dem 1. There were short stays in Alexandria in 1923 and 1925, and later, probably 1932/33 and 1938, at the Red Sea and Suez.
