Manson Blair was born near Ballyclare, Co. Antrim in 1947. A graduate of Stranmillis College Manson went on to pursue a career in teaching, in Larne, then Carrickfergus and in 2004 retired from Ballyclare Primary School after 26 years.
After retirement Manson Blair began to paint in earnest focusing on traditional Irish landscape, particularly the rugged mountain, coastal and lake views of the West of Ireland, as well as the more local Antrim coast.
The inspiration for much of his work is found in such areas as Mayo, Galway and Donegal. Recently he was elected as a member of the Ulster Watercolour Society.
