Biography

Artist and painter Thomas Blinks was born in northwest London in 1853. Predominantly a self-taught artist, Blinks studied equine anatomy and the graceful musculature of horses during regular visits to Tattersalls, the leading auction house of racehorses in Great Britain.

Blinks' first exhibit was held at the Dudley Gallery in 1881. The painter held regular exhibits at the Royal British Academy from 1883 to 1910. Blinks' paintings were also showcased at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters to captivated admirers of his work.
