    Confidences is an original artwork realized by Alfred Boilot in the first years of the XX century. Original etching on paper. Passepartout included: 35 x 50 cm. Signed on plate on the lower left corner ("Alf. Boilot, sc"). Dry stamp on the lower right margin. Artist's proof, before Letter. The artwork is from the cachet of the "Societé de la Societé Française des Aquafortistes". The plate is in very good conditions. Some rips on the margins of the passepartout. Beautiful and elegant artwork representing some well-dresses women chatting seated on a sofa. In the background, there are other figures talking and a very delicate frame of flowers and shrubs. On the left, an ancient elegant marble column. The figures are characterized by a very delicate touch and by soft strokes.     Alfred Boilot (Paris, active 1880 - 1900) French etcher and engraver upon both wood and copper, he studied printmaking techniques under Butin and Damman in Paris. He participated in many expositions including the Paris Blanc et Noir Exhibition of 1886. Alfred Boilot gained recognition for his fine and detailed style and was frequently commissioned by French, English and American publishers of prints. Original etching, drawn by Wal. Paget, etched by Boilot, plate signed, image 5-1/2 x 3-3/4 in. plus margins. Still has tissue guard attached with title "Eveline Seized by the Welsh".
