Includes: one (1) titled, "The Bay of Baiae," after Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851), originally published 1859 to 1861, engraved by Robert Brandard (1805-1862), having printed antique label with title to verso; one (1) titled, "The Nelson Column: Trafalgar Square," after George Hawkins (fl. 1800-1825), engraved by James Baylis Allen (1803-1876), having printed antique label with title to verso; one (1) titled, "The Beacon Tower," after Claude Lorrain (1600-1682), published circa 1860, engraved by George C. Virtue (1794-1868), having printed antique label with title and notation to verso; one (1) depicting Innsbruck (Austria), Maria Theresien Strasse, and St. Anne's Column, produced in the style of the 19th Century Austrian School; and one (1) titled, "Biebrich," from "Halenza's Rhein-Album," by Friedrich von Foltz (1811-1879).     Brandard, Robert. Brandard's Etchings. With 19 etched plates on mounted India paper, laid loose inside period half green morocco & cloth binding, spine lettered in gilt. Image sizes vary, approx. 4x6" or reverse, on heavy paper mounts 11x17¼". [London]: c.1840's-50's Proofs before letters of etchings in the Art-Union of London, including fine etchings of landscapes, maritime scenes, pastoral venues, country cottages, etc. Robert Brandard (1805-1862), a landscape engraver and watercolorist, came to London from his native Birmingham in 1824, studying under Edward Goodall. He had some success as an artist, exhibiting oils at the Royal Academy on several occasions, but concentrated on engraving for others, working at various times for Turner, Callcott, Stanfield and others. The plates are in fine condition, the binding with a little wear but very good.
