Includes: one (1) mixed media work in black and white ink and watercolor, a figural group depicting a clown band with musician and other figures, signed and dated to bottom S BRECHER 1965; and one (1) mixed media work in color, a figural group depicting a quartet of clown figures, evincing nervous expressions and poses, signed and dated to lower right S BRECHER 1965. Both having original vintage circa 1970s THE HOUSE OF FINE ARTS (Summit, NJ) gallery labels affixed to verso, and are presented under glass with fabric mat borders in decorative gilt wood frames. During his career he won over forty prestigious prizes and awards and had numerous one-man shows. Brecher's works are included in many important private collections as well as the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Offered here is an original lithograph from the rare 1953 "Improvisations" portfolio, published by the Artists Equity Association of New York. Leading artists on the New York art scene were invited to contribute original lithographs in the form of advertisements for businesses and institutions supporting the Artists Equity Association; these sponsors allowed the artists complete creative freedom of expression. This lithograph was issued in an edition of 2000; the sheet measures 12 x 8-1/2 inches. Signed by Brecher in the plate (not hand-signed). Bumped corners o/w VG.
