Outstanding large oil on canvas scene shows a man and woman on horseback jumping a small stream, the woman with a large white goose under her arm and the man with displayed sword. Behind them is a group of people with a man shaking his fist and the remaining family gathered around the remainder of the flock. A large connected Dutch farmhouse with barn is seen at the top of the hill under an afternoon's fading light. Signed lower right and inscribed "MUENCHEN". Brenneman shared a studio with other artists including Chase and Duveneck and went on to specialize in painting horses in action. Housed in a magnificent gesso-decorated gilt frame which may be its original. SIZE: 27" x 39". CONDITION: Relined.  Restored with inpainting.  Very good. 9-97135
