    MALCOLM M. BROWN (1931 - ) Sax Man. Watercolor, 2005. 330x235 mm; 13x9 1/4 inches. Signed and dated "C 05" in pencil, lower right. Provenance: collection of the artist. This is the first known work by this Cleveland artist to come to auction. A member of the American Watercolor Society since 1973, Malcolm Brown is known nationally for his watercolors, which are found in many private and public collections, including the Cleveland Museum of Art and Cleveland State University. Two of his figurative works, Innocence and Sophisticated Lady are illustrated in the 2003 catalogue Something All Our Own: The Grant Hill Collection of African American Art.
