The juror of Selection and Awards in the Watercolor Society of Indiana Exhibit, Cheng-Knee Chee wrote this about Italia IX: “The key to this painting is its subtle poetic quality. This artist stepped out of traditional representational mode and walked into the realis of intellectual questions. The painting plays with rectangular shapes, all of which are different sizes. This work might have hidden personal meaning that could be interpreted in different way by viewers. The artist shows a sensitive treatment of colors.”
