    Biafra, Nigeria. 1968/printed 1990. Gelatin silver print. 21 x 30,3 cm (30,5 x 40,5 cm). Signed by the photographer in pencil, 2 photographer's stamps, as well as stamp with print information annotated in pencil on the verso. An international and award-winning photographer, Romano Cagnoni's work has been featured on the covers of many important news magazines. He is most known for his documentary work on global wars and conflicts. Along with James Cameron, Cagnoni was the first western non-communist journalist allowed into North Vietnam during the tumultuous years of the war and Life magazine featured his portrait of Ho Chi Minh on its cover. Cagnoni began planning and producing world stories on his own. He covered Biafra, the civil war in Nigeria, which was published in large spreads on different issues in Life magazine and earned him the USA Overseas Press Award. – Edges slightly curled, corners of margins bumped and with some creases, longer crease in left margin, otherwise a strong print in very good condition.
