Kathleen Cantin, accomplished artist, etcher and printmaker presently makes her home in North Carolina where she is constantly refreshed by the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Since her graduation from the University of New Hampshire, Kathleen Cantin has participated in some of the nations most prestigious print exhibits including the 2nd United States International Graphics Annual, the 23rd Berkshire Museum Exhibition, Boston Printmakers 30th Annual Exhibition, Davidson National Print and Drawing Competition, and the 39th Exhibition of Miniature Painters, Sculptors, and Engravers Society of Washington, D.C.

Kathleen Cantin's expert command of the etching medium led to further honors when she was awarded commisions by the N.H. Graphics Society, President and Mrs. Derek Bok of Harvard University, the Franklin Mint, and Collector's Guild. Prints by this talented artist may be found in the collections of the Smithsonian Institute, the Philadelphia Public Library, the Decordova and Fairbanks Museums, The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, and in numerous galleries throughout the United States. Corporate collections include Hawk Mountain Corporation, Proctor Trust Company, and The Burlington Savings Bank. Awards include the Helen Slottman Graphics Award from the Pen & Brush Club, New York.

    Kathleen Cantin (Born 1951) American, "Signs of Spring" Etching Print. Depicts an idyllic creek in the midst of rolling hills with grazing horses and a quaint farmstead in the distance. Signed and dated '87 in pencil bottom right. Numbered 110/750 in pencil bottom left. Titled in pencil bottom middle. Prior gallery label on back, along with an attached certificate of authenticity signed and inscribed by the artist.  Overall Size: 20 x 18 in.  Sight Size: 9 3/4 x 11 3/4 in.  #6280 .  Kathleen Cantin was born in Vermont in 1951. She spent her youth traveling back and forth between Vermont and New Hampshire, heavily inspired by the beauty of the natural landscape, and attended the University of New Hampshire to study art. While in her sophomore year she enrolled in a class on etching and became instantly hooked, exploring printmaking and ways of improving the medium. She began attending art festivals and exhibitions around New England, winning awards and obtaining commissions from Harvard University, the Franklin Mint, and the Graphics Society Collector’s Guild. Her works are now on display at the Smithsonian Institute and numerous galleries as well as in private collections around the United States. In the early 1990s she held a one-woman exhibit in North Carolina that led her to fall in love with the tranquil landscape and move there permanently, and she continues to make original etchings as well as offer lectures and classes on her techniques out of her studio.
