Charles Capps studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts before settling in Wichita, Kansas where he became known for his mastery of etching and later, aquatints which he began producing after meeting Doel Reed in the 1930s. Etchings & Aquatints, Lithographs and Block Prints by Barbara Thompson, et al; it has never been offered at auction, according to the major art databases. Etchings from this edition were included in print exhibitions in California, Kansas, Connecticut and Hawaii 1954 to 1983. Image measures 7 x 9, sheet is 10.5 x 12.25, and the mat is 13 x 14.75 inches. Very good condition, the full untrimmed sheet, not laid down, no damage, stain, punctures, tears or repair; framed to archival standards in acid free mounts. 2. A block print titled Sheep Ranch (1950) This block print is inscribed with the artist's name Anette for Ina Annette (1901-1990). Apparently estate signed in pencil below the image lower right and titled lower left in a hand other than the artist's. The edition is inscribed as 6 from an edition of 380 prints. Image measures 10.5 x 13.5, sheet is 11.75 x 15.25, and frame is 22 x 28 inches. Very good condition, the full untrimmed sheet, not laid down, no damage, stain, punctures, tears or repair; framed to archival standards in acid free mounts.
