In very good condition Erläuterungen / Comments Der aus Trun im Kanton Graubünden stammende Alois Carigiet zog während seiner Schulzeit mit seinen Eltern und dem jüngeren Bruder Zarli Carigiet (1907-1981) nach Chur. Anschliessend folgten längere Aufenthalte in Zürich. 1960 kehrte Carigiet im Alter von 58 Jahren als freischaffender Maler und Zeichner in sein Heimatdorf in der Surselva zurück, wo er bis zu seinem Tod lebte und arbeitete. Zu Beginn seines Zürcher Aufenthalts im Jahr 1923 war Carigiet im damals bekannten Grafikatelier von Max Dalang tätig. Dort entwarf er Inserate, Prospekte und Schaufensterdekorationen und machte sich rasch einen Namen als vielseitiger Gestalter. 1927 eröffnete er sein eigenes Atelier in Zürich. Einen wichtigen Wendepunkt in seiner künstlerischen Karriere und für seinen beruflichen Erfolg markierte das Jahr 1940, als Carigiet in Chur an einer ersten Kunstausstellung teilnehmen konnte. Das Interesse der Sammler und der Öffentlichkeit am umfangreichen Schaffen des Malers und an der unverwechselbaren Ausstrahlung seiner Werke blieb über den Tod des Künstlers hinaus ungebrochen. Das Schweizerische Nationalmuseum widmete Carigiet 2015/2016 eine weit beachtete Ausstellung mit dem Titel "Kunst, Grafik & Schellen-Ursli". Das Gemälde mit den drei Schneehühnern entstand in einer Schaffensphase, in der Carigiets Werk zunehmend öffentliche Aufmerksamkeit erlangte. Sammler und Kunstliebhaber schätzen insbesondere die gegenwartsbezogene figurative und persönliche Bildsprache des Künstlers. Carigiet blieb unabhängig von zeitgenössischen Strömungen stets seiner eigenen künstlerischen Überzeugung treu. Ein Jahr nach der Entstehung unseres Gemäldes schuf der Künstler die bekannten Illustrationen zum Kinderbuch "Schellen-Ursli", durch die er zusätzlich internationale Bekanntheit erlangte. Alois Carigiet, originally from Trun in the canton of Graubünden, moved to Chur during his school years with his parents and his younger brother Zarli Carigiet (1907-1981). This was followed by longer stays in Zurich. In 1960, at the age of 58, Carigiet returned as a freelance painter and draughtsman to his home village in the Surselva, where he lived and worked until his death. At the beginning of his stay in Zurich in 1923, Carigiet worked in the then well-known graphic studio of Max Dalang. There he designed advertisements, brochures, and shop window decorations, and quickly made a name for himself as a versatile designer. In 1927, he opened his own studio in Zurich. A significant turning point in his artistic career and professional success came in 1940, when Carigiet was able to participate in his first art exhibition in Chur. The interest of collectors and the public in the painter's extensive work and the distinctive appeal of his art remained unbroken even after the artist's death. The Swiss National Museum dedicated to Carigiet a widely acclaimed exhibition in 2015/2016 entitled "Kunst, Grafik & Schellen-Ursli". The painting with the three ptarmigans was created during a period when Carigiet's work was gaining increasing public attention. Collectors and art lovers especially appreciate the artist's contemporary, figurative, and personal visual language. Carigiet always remained true to his own artistic convictions, independent of contemporary trends. One year after the creation of our painting, the artist produced the well-known illustrations for the children's book "Schellen-Ursli", which brought him additional international recognition.
