    RAFAEL CARRERAS PUIGDENGOLAS (Puigcerdà, 1933- Barcelona, 2013) for MYC-Gavina. San Remo" armchair, design 1959. Lacquered beech wood and velvet upholstery. Reupholstered piece. In excellent state of preservation. Measurements: 90 x 78 x 85 cm. One of Rafael Carreras' most emblematic contributions was the San Remo armchair, designed in 1959 for the Spanish firm MYC Gavina. This Barcelona-based company was one of the main promoters of modern design in Spain during the 1950s and 1960s. The San Remo armchair is characterized by a refined silhouette, where straight lines and soft curves coexist in a balanced composition that anticipates modern ergonomic solutions. Rafael Carreras was a designer and technical architect. From the 1970s onwards he devoted himself exclusively to industrial design and interior design, designing for companies such as Clas, MC, Myc, Nave, ICS, Mobiplast, Tramo, Syma System and Código. Between 1965 and 1970 he was director of NAU, interior architecture between Barcelona and Madrid. His products were selected on several occasions for the ADI/FAD Delta and FAD interior design awards and were published in several national and international magazines (Hogares Modernos, On, Abitare, Domus, etc.). He combined his work with teaching, which he did at the Massana School in Barcelona. He was also linked to different institutions that promoted design, such as the BCD and ARQ-INFAD, of which he was a founding member and first president (1976-1982). His designs include the Pop chair (1967), the 143 chaise longue (1970) and the Hollywood chair (1993). Reupholstered piece. In excellent state of preservation.

Rare and highly collectible Space Age floor lamp designed by Rafael Carreras for Tramo, an iconic piece of 1970s Spanish design. Its unique transparent spherical shade encloses an orientable spotlight in red, achieving a futuristic and vibrant visual effect. The lamp rises on a chrome tubular structure with clean lines very representative of Tramo's aesthetics. Its sculptural presence and strong visual identity make it a perfect accent for those seeking lighting with character and originality. This lamp reflects the technological and formal trends of the early 1970s: synthetic materials, transparency, spherical volumes and vibrant colors. Rafael Carreras, Tramo's key designer, developed innovative models that responded - as he himself wrote - to "new needs" in modern homes (Carreras, 1971). This lamp is featured in several Spanish design reference publications, such as ADI FAD's Design Selection 1973 and in Juan A. Blanch's La iluminación en la decoración moderna (1973), which highlights its functional approach and advanced formal language.
