Portraits Made with the Camera, Privately published, London, c. 1920s, tipped in printed-title on hand-made paper, 6 gelatin silver print portrait photographs of young stylish women each tipped onto hand-made paper then onto album leaf rectos, images 24 x 18.5 cm and similar, entirely uncaptioned, original decorative boards, a little rubbed and faded on spine, folio QTY: (1) NOTE: An unusual and rare album which probably varies in content from copy to copy. Hugh Cecil Saunders set up as a portrait photographer in London in 1912 under the professional name Hugh Cecil. His photographs appeared regularly in the sketch & Tatler. The Prince of Wales (later Edward VIII) sat for him in 1925, being the first of many royal sittings. Cecil published his Book of Beauty in 1926.
