Soundgarden was an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1984 by singer and drummer Chris Cornell, lead guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Hiro Yamamoto; Cornell switched to rhythm guitar in 1985, replaced on drums initially by Scott Sundquist, and later by Matt Cameron in 1986. Chris Reeve Shadow III Hallow Handle Fixed Knife

Included in this lot is a Chris Reeve Knives Shadow III hollow handle fixed blade knife with sheath. Chris Reeve Knives began operations on January 1, 1984, in a one-car garage in Durban, South Africa, when Chris moved from full-time Tool and Die Maker/part time knife maker to full-time knife maker. In March 1989, they moved from their native South Africa and settled in Boise, Idaho. Chris was inducted into the Cutlery Hall of Fame in June 2015 cementing his legacy as a top tier knife maker. The single thought in Chris' mind has always been to design every model with deliberation, taking into account how the knife works, its intended purpose and the most appropriate materials. This Shadow III blade is made from A2 steel with a 6061 aluminum butt cap and handle. This spearpoint blade has a good weight and strong points. The knife is marked Made in the U.S.A. right about the grind line and also features the Chris Reeve Knives hallmark. The blade measures 4 while the knife measures 8 1/8 overall. A leather sheath is also included with the Chris Reeves Knife hallmark stamped towards the bottom. The back of the sheath is stamped G Feller Casemakers Meridian, ID83642 USA.

BARNARD CHRISTIAAN: (1922-2001) South-African cardiac Surgeon who performed the world´s first heart transplant and the first in which the patient regained consciousness. A.N.S., `Chris Barnard´, one page, folio, Johannesburg, 14th April 1968. Barnard writes an inscription `To Al Italia Staff at Jan Smuts Airport, Thank you for the wonderful service, Best to you all´, to a xerocopy of the Alitalia passenger manifest of the flight from Rome to Johannesburg, showing the passengers list names, including Barnard. Very small tear to the right edge not affecting the signature. Together with Philip Blaiberg (1909-1969) South-African Dentist. The third person to receive a heart transplant. A bold black ink signature by Blaiberg to an attractive colourful printed cover of a folding white stiff letter received, congratulating him for his courage and recovery. VG, 2 £150-200 Barnard's second transplant operation was performed on 2nd January 1968 in Cape Town. His patient Philip Blaiberg lived for 19 months and was able to go home from the hospital. Blaiberg's heart was donated by Clive Haupt, a 24-year-old black man who suffered a stroke, inciting controversy (especially in the African-American press) during the time of South African apartheid. The success of Blaiberg's heart transplant spiraled the progress made in regard to heart transplantation.

Medical Interest Limited Edition Cast Bronze Impression Of Dr Chris Barnard's Hands On 3 December 1967, South African doctor, Dr Christiaan (Chris) Barnard, performed the world's first human to human heart transplant at Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town. Presented here is a rare and limited edition collectors casting of Dr Barnard's hands. This being issue 15, each plaque (left and right hand) impressed to back with the copyright logo 'Prof C.N. Barnard 1984, Collectors limited issue cast 1984 -06-06' . Very good never out of box condition, approx weight 8kg.

Icons of Music/Elvis Presley: Elvis Presley's Personally Worn Stunning Red Silk Shirt Hawaii 1969 The following information is from Chris Davidson the owner of the ELVIS-A-RAMA MUSEUM before he sold to Graceland. It reads as follows...... Elvis Presley's 1969 Stunning Red Silk Shirt. This red, short-sleeved silk shirt was purchased by Elvis while on vacation in Hawaii with then-wife Priscilla Presley. The shirt has a Silk Passage clothing label (size L) at the collar. Elvis would rarely wear short-sleeved shirts, due to his concerns regarding his slender arms. This spectacular shirt was later given to Tish Henley who worked for Elvis as a nurse from 1968 until 1977. She lived at the back of Graceland in a mobile home trailer with her husband, Tommy Henley, who worked as the Graceland grounds keeper. This shirt was obtained directly from Tish Henley. This Red Silk Shirt was on display at the world famous ELVIS-A-RAMA MUSEUM for many years. It also appeared on national television in 2003/2004. The owner of the Elvis-A-Rama Museum had this framed in Las Vegas. Accompanied by a hand signed letter with embossed and corporate seal from the President and CEO of the Elvis Presley Museum
