    Hans Christiansen, Tischtuch mit Schwertmotiv Entwurf um 1904, vierfach eingewebtes Künstlermonogramm (innere Bordürenecken), Ausführung wohl Oberhessische Leinenindustrie Marx & Kleinberger Frankfurt, weißer Leinendamast mit eingewebtem geometrischen Dessin, umlaufende Bordüre aus schmalem, alternierend gegenübergestelltem Lanzettblattmotiv und Römerschwert mit Scheide im dichten Rapport, als Ecklösung ein schmales, diagonal gestelltes Rechteck mit Teilausschnitt des Schwertes und flankierende Strahlen, im Mittelfeld engmaschiges Netz aus großen Linienkreisen, diese gefüllt mit einem aus Kreisscheiben gebildetem Quadrat, in den rautenförmigen Zwischenräumen jeweils eine weitere Kreisscheibe, in einer Ecke gesticktes Besitzermonogramm AB, guter altersgemäßer Zustand, Maße 136 x 163 cm. Hans Christiansen, tablecloth with sword motif Designed around 1904, artist’s monogram woven in four times (inner corners of the border), probably manufactured by Oberhessische Leinenindustrie Marx & Kleinberger, Frankfurt; white linen damask with a woven-in geometric design; a continuous border of narrow, alternating, oppositely arranged lancet-leaf motifs and a Roman sword with scabbard in a dense repeat pattern; as a corner motif, a narrow, diagonally positioned rectangle featuring a partial section of the sword and flanking rays; in the central field, a close-meshed net of large concentric circles, these filled with a square formed from circular segments; in each of the diamond-shaped spaces between them, a further circular segment; the owner’s monogram ‘AB’ embroidered in one corner; in good condition for its age; dimensions 136 x 163 cm.
