Remarks: The lower right door needs soldering at the closing; the piece is preserved. Measurements: 176 x 116 x 42 cm. Jaime Tresserra was inspired by antique Korean style furniture to create this piece, specifically those in which the family materialized their social rank. They were furniture of status and had a multiple function: closet and cupboard. Based on the versatility of oriental furniture, as well as its extreme delicacy, Tresserra conceived a buffet with numerous compartments and drawers, including a secret one on the side. The central part houses a crescent-shaped rotating tray that goes unnoticed when the cabinet is closed. The sides conceal two "secret" compartments. Despite the variety of drawers, the piece is characterized by its visual lightness. Unlike sturdy oriental furniture, Samuro is characterized by the subtle curvature of the front surface. In this way, the best of Mediterranean design is combined with oriental craftsmanship. The form is deliberately austere: a slender bar, with a frontal channel through which light is emitted in a line of rhythmic dots, like a minimalist visual notation. Exclusive designer of the Tresserra Collection, Jaime Tresserra studied law at the University of Barcelona, although he later abandoned his studies to become an interior designer, designing exclusive furniture for his clients. Prismatic body, its exterior appearance is smooth and clean, which enhances the beauty of the grain, only interrupted by the steel handles in the form of spheres and a circular compartment with hidden opening to the interior. The right front of the cabinet has multiple drawers while the left front has a large single door. A space for the ice bucket as well as other metal compartments complete the upper tray of the cabinet. Exclusive designer of Tresserra Collection, Jaime Tresserra studied law at the University of Barcelona, although he abandoned his studies to start his career as an interior designer, designing exclusive furniture for his clients. After several years as an interior designer, Tresserra decided to create his own company, and presented his first furniture collection at the International Furniture Fair in Valencia in 1987, where he won the award for best modern furniture design. During the following years he continued to present his creations annually at the International Furniture Fairs in Milan and Cologne, achieving a good reception from both the public and the critics.
