        An 18th century hand colored engraving, plate III from the treatise on style and architecture 'Works in Architecture' by Robert and James Adams. The well-known late Georgian period designers Robert and James Adams are credited with being among the first to integrate design of furniture and fixtures with architecture and are the creators of the Adams Style of design and furnishings traditional yet today. Engraved circa 1767, this plate is a rendering of the designs for the pediments of the gateway for Carlton House, designs for the panels over the doors, pateras and trophies over the columns and pilasters, all for Carlton House mansion in London. Sight size 19 x 24, frame measures 30.5 x 35.5 inches. Appears good, not examined outside the frame.

Als Gegenstücke dekorativ gerahmt. - Sehr schöne Blätter in aufwendiger, feiner Kolorierung. Der untere Blattrand jeweils leicht beschnitten. - Sehr gut erhalten.
