Gérard de Lairesse (Liegi 1641 - Amsterdam 1711) attribuito

          Est: €3,000 - €5,000

Gérard de Lairesse (Liège 1641 - Amsterdam 1711) attributed Bacchanal Oil on canvas 69 x 85 cm Provenance: Cavaliere P. Fiorentini Collection, Venice, and Levi M. Collection, Venice The painting is accompanied by an attribution sheet, present on the back of the photo of the same, written by Dr. Benno Gaiger. The artwork derives, in contrast, from the canvas entitled Bacchanal in front of the statue of Pan by Nicolas Poussin, now at the National Gallery in London. It is a wise elaboration in Baroque style of the London subject; the author has indeed made it more complex by adding a rich colonnade on the left and a group of angels with garlands.
