JAKOB DEMUS Wien 1959 - tätig in Wien Olympia. Blick in die Ferne. Aquarellstudie 1982. Signiert, datiert „I.X.82“ und ortsbezeichnet sowie mit „Jakob“ signierter und „11.X.87“ datierter, persönlicher Widmung. Auf Fabriano-Cotton-Vélin. 35 x 49,8 cm. Untere linke Ecke gering bestoßen. Demus studierte 1977-84 an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Wien bei Joannis Avramidis. Neben Bildhauerarbeiten dominiert in Demus Werk die sensible, romantische Auseinandersetzung mit der sichtbaren Natur. Altmeisterlichen Traditionen folgend, schuf er Aquarelle, Feder-, Silberstift- und Bister-Zeichungen, meist akribische Pflanzen-, Mineralien-, Natur- oder Landschafts-Studien, aber auch frei erfundene Wirklichkeiten. Weitgehend Autodidakt eignete er sich die alten Drucktechniken an; seit 1981 entstanden mehr als 260 Kaltnadel-Radierungen. (AKL/AOW, online, passim). [bg]
