Francis Leach in his book 'Country Seats of Shropshire' (Shrewsbury 1891) makes reference on page 179 to; 'In the morning room, lighted by a large bay window, are portraits of the late T.H. Hope-Edwardes Esq and his widow'. Thomas Henry Hope Edwardes also built the church in Dorrington in 1845.
