The oil on artist's board signed lower left is attributed to the area outside Conway in western Massachusetts with a view of The Berkshires and is displayed in a nice worm wood oak frame.     gouache on paper, signed lower right "George Dinckel," small study of a Rockport harbor scene with sailboats and figures along the dock, housed under glass in a period, likely original, gilt wood frame.  SS 7.5 x 9.75 in.; DOA 13 x 15.5 in. Dinckel was born in Cincinnati where he received his formal art training at the Art Academy under Frank Duveneck. He continued his studies on travels through Rome, Paris, Munich, and Berlin before finally settling in Toledo, Ohio. He exhibited frequently with the Toledo Federation of Art Societies from 1917 onwards. While living in Toledo, Dinckel made numerous sketching trips in New England before moving to Rockport, Massachusetts in 1942.
