Dola's birth name was Edouard Vernier but he painted under the name of Georges Dola , having taken his name from his hometown. He was a painter, printer (specializing in lithography), and a graphic designer. He was also well known for his sheet music covers and his operetta poster works. He worked in Paris, mostly in the film and advertising industries.
