Mit sparsamen Mitteln fängt Eglau die in leichtem Nebel liegende Szenerie ein, die zarten Übergänge zwischen Blau- und Grüntönen und die kontrastierenden graphischen Strukturen. Otto Eglau (German, 1917-1988). This color etching and aquatint, titled Tidal Patterns, is a sophisticated example of the artist's mid-century coastal abstractions. The composition features a rhythmic line of wooden pilings receding toward a minimalist horizon, effectively capturing the atmospheric textures of a tidal flat. The work is hand-signed and dated Eglau 60 in pencil in the lower right margin and numbered 175/200 in the lower left margin. The print is housed in a speckled brown wooden frame with a white mat.
