Seitlich der Tür am Boden ein Holzblock und eine kleine Schale, sowie rechts das Holzdach eines weiteren Gebäudes. Realistische Wiedergabe in monochromer Farbgebung. Anmerkung: Der Künstler war ein deutscher Maler des Realismus, der der Münchner Schule zugerechnet wird. Seine Motive sind lebensnah und beschreiben das Leben im 19. Jahrhundert.           Provenance: Southern German private collection. Lit.: Friedrich von Boetticher, Malerwerke des neunzehnten Jahrhunderts, vol. II,1 p. 44 s.v. Meyerheim no. 67. According to Boetticher from the Collection of the Ravené family, Berlin, and in their public gallery likely exhibited in hall 5, cabinet 2 together with three other paintings by the artist. Pierre Louis Ravené collected mainly German paintings from the Berlin and Düsseldorf School of painters. In 1853 Ravené commissioned the expansion of exhibition rooms for his collection in his new business location at Wallstraße 92-93. This was the first private art collection open to the public in Berlin. Later in 1896 his grandson set up a monumental office building at Wallstraße 5-8 and since 1897 the collection was exhibited there in the third floor in five halls with three cabinets.
