A distinctive and highly evocative composition by Scottish artist James Fairgrieve, executed in acrylic on muslin and dated 1988. This work exemplifies Fairgrieve’s characteristic minimalist sensibility, combining a restrained palette with a strong graphic presence. Dominating the foreground is the silhouette of a dog in motion, rendered in deep tonal contrast against a muted ground.
