    Est: €1,500 - €2,000

EMILIO FIASCHI (Italy, 1858 - 1941). "Bust of a lady". Carved alabaster. Exhibits wear marks and some flaking. Signed on the back. Measurements: 66 x 45 x 25 cm. The fineness of the finishes and the acute sense of detail of Emilio Fiaschi's sculptures can be clearly appreciated in the sculpture we present. A woman of elegant bearing and harmonious features supports, turns her face slightly tilting it downward, thus adopting a gesture of great sophistication. She covers her smooth skin with vaporous fabrics that flutter on her bust in an exceptional way. A large headdress adds monumentality to the work without losing the subtlety and lightness of the carving, as the folds of the hat itself show the great technical mastery of the sculptor. Sculptor active in Florence between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Emilio Fiaschi was trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, in the tradition of Florentine sculpture. He worked mainly in Carrara marble and alabaster, and created busts and complete figures of various themes, ranging from classical mythology to literary themes, including costumbrismo. His language was characterized by an acute sense of detail, and his works are distinguished by the fineness of their finishes. He is currently represented in private collections in Europe and America. Exhibits wear consistent with age and use and some flaking.

    Est: €800 - €1,000

Attributed to Emilio Fiaschi, Bust of a young woman c. 1885 / 1900, alabaster P. Emilio Fiaschi, 1858 Volterra - 1941 Florence, also known as Emiliano Fiaschi, Italian sculptor, here: Bust of a young beautiful woman with long hair falling together at the back, alabaster, 30 x 18 x 30 cm, mounted on a red, white-veined marble base About the artist; Emilio Fiaschi studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze from 1883 to 1885 and spent most of his life in Florence, where he also became very well known. He was a master sculptor in both marble and alabaster and created portraits of women and female nudes, usually smaller than life-size figures. Two very similar alabaster busts signed by Fiaschi are enclosed here as a printout, which confirm the attribution in a comparison of styles, in particular "Bust of a Young Woman" from 1883 with the same hairstyle as the work on offer

  • EMILIO FIASCHI, (Italy, 1858 - 1941). "Children". Alabaster sculpture. Signed on the base.

EMILIO FIASCHI, (Italy, 1858 - 1941). "Children". Alabaster sculpture. Signed on the base.

    Est: €1,000 - €1,200

EMILIO FIASCHI, (Italy, 1858 - 1941). "Children". Sculpture in alabaster. Signed on the base. It has slight chipping on the base. Measurements: 50 x 30 x 20 cm. In this work Fiaschi captures a costumbrista scene between two children, a genre theme rooted in the Italian tradition, approached from his own point of view around 1900, leaving aside the social criticism and the description of types and clothes to reflect the emotional, the relationship of affection between the two children, which is revealed in their smiling faces, their smiling looks and in their kiss. A sculptor active in Florence between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, Emilio Fiaschi trained at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence in the Florentine sculptural tradition. He worked mainly in Carrara marble and alabaster, and produced busts and complete figures on a variety of themes, ranging from classical mythology to literary subjects and genre scenes. His language was characterised by an acute sense of detail, and his works are distinguished by the finesse of their finish. He is now represented in private collections in Europe and America.
