(2 pcs) John Nugent Fitch (British, 1840-1927) Orchid Engravings Two John Nugent Fitch (British, b. 1840 d. 1927) color orchid engravings of "cattleya superba splendens" and "laelia elegans alba" (plates 30/33). Both marked for Fitch in bottom left and right of image. Marked on verso with print of the cover page of the book the engravings are taken from "The Orchid Album", Volume I 1882. Artists Bio John Nugent Fitch (1840–1927) was a prominent British botanical illustrator and lithographer. He is best celebrated for creating 528 hand-colored lithographic plates for The Orchid Album, a monumental 11-volume work published between 1872 and 1897.
