Comes in original shipping crate. Wells Fargo & Overland Stage Co. 27" by 19 3/8" by 14". Damage to front area of carriage as shown, has cracks to wood and chips to the paint. There is also a crack to the bar of the wheel as shown. Dale Ford. Born 1934. Known for: Sculptor-miniature stagecoaches. Dale Ford, of Redding, California, has been a full-time western artist and sculptor since 1965. The C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana has a 69 piece collection of Dale Ford's miniature horse drawn vehicles on permanent exhibit. Ford has created 80 different miniature horse drawn vehicles from the 1800's. Each is made by hand of hardwood, steel and leather and with great detail. Each has a very fine hand-rubbed finish that is striped and lettered by hand. His bronze sculptures have been created using the "Lost Wax" bronze casting method. His Concord stagecoach has been carefully sculpted to match the original 1880 stagecoach by Abbott-Downing Company. It has the multidimensional curved sides, top and boots as the original had. It even has seats on the inside.

Uniquely detailed and painted, the resulting works capture a wonderful sense of the horse-drawn era of the American West.
