Biography

Artist Frank Tenney Johnson specialized in idealized imagery of Western America, and he apprenticed under former Texas Ranger Richard Lorenz. Through his sketches and oil paintings of cowboys, horses, and Native American culture, he built a solid reputation for his realistic artwork. Building on his success with capturing wildlife and nature, painter Frank Tenney Johnson developed a relationship with popular magazine Field & Stream.
