Four years later, Friedlander had gained such recognition that in 1967 he participated in the revolutionary photography exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City entitled, New Documents. Friedlander was exhibited alongside Garry Winogrand and Diane Arbus. In 1969 he collaborated with the pop painter, Jim Dine, to create the Work From the Same House. Seeing a brace of them, it becomes clear that this photographer artist is to be taken seriously even while he is grinning - because he uses photography with deadly aim to reflect and record only his own very special, personal vision of his world. It is oddly refreshing, unselfconsciously striking and unpredictably adventurous." (Walker Evans). - Provenienz: Nachlass Rudolf Rieser.
