    The Herman Miller Company is an American manufacturer of modern design furniture based in Holland, Michigan. The company is over 100 years old and prides itself on being " a company of youthful enthusiasm, and our beliefs guide our actions." Always known as a source of high quality design oriented furniture, the company is perhaps best known for its Eames Chair and Ottoman originally designed by Charles and Roy Eames. The company's Creative Director, Steve Frykholm, began designing posters in 1970 to announce the company's annual picnic. These posters showed a distinctive style and featured summer themed images (ice cream, kites, popcorn etc.) in crisp and colorful images. Most noteworthy is the fact that the Museum of Modern Art in New York has a set of 20 of these annual posters in its permanent collection. This poster is from the 1979 Company Picnic.     Original Vintage Herman Miller Summer Picnic Poster by Frykholm 1971 Watermelon

    The Herman Miller Company is an American manufacturer of modern design furniture based in Holland, Michigan. The company is over 100 years old and prides itself on being " a company of youthful enthusiasm, and our beliefs guide our actions." Always known as a source of high quality design oriented furniture, the company is perhaps best known for its Eames Chair and Ottoman originally designed by Charles and Roy Eames. The company's Creative Director, Steve Frykholm, began designing posters in 1970 to announce the company's annual picnic. These posters showed a distinctive style and featured summer themed images (ice cream, kites, popcorn etc.) in crisp and colorful images. Most noteworthy is the fact that the Museum of Modern Art in New York has a set of 20 of these annual posters in its permanent collection. This poster is from the 1971 Company Picnic.
