Measurements: 20 x 30,50 cm; 30 x 40 cm (frame). Parisian painter and lithographer, Eugène Galien-Laloue also worked with other techniques such as watercolor or pastel. He tackled a variety of subjects, including landscape, genre themes and urban views, being especially known for his images of Parisian daily life, generally in an autumnal or wintry atmosphere. He also portrayed military life commissioned by the French Republic during the Franco-Prussian War and the First World War. He showed his works at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris in 1877, and used the pseudonyms L. Dupuy, Juliany, E. Galiany, Lievin and Dumoutier to circumvent the exclusivity contracts of the art galleries with which he worked. He is currently represented in the Fine Arts Museums of Louvier, La Rochelle and Mulhouse, as well as in various private collections. Presents certificate of authenticity. Presents original frame.
