During his career as the lead singer, guitarist, songwriter, and founding member of the 1960s counterculture's iconic, psychedelic band, The Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia's artwork was not in the limelight. Born in San Francisco in 1942, he was an artistic child, who in the summer of 1957, attended the California School of Fine Arts and received his first guitar.
