    § Catherine Giles (1878-1955) Portrait of Jessica Dismorr, circa 1905-08 pencil 28.5 x 21.5cm Provenance: The artist Mrs Margaret Hodgson Mrs McLean The collection of Quentin Stevenson In 1904, Catherine Giles left London to study under American artist, Max Bohm, at the Etaples art colony, France. It was at Etaples that Giles first met Jessica Dismorr, with whom she would form a lifelong friendship defined by mutual respect and shared artistic vision. Executed around 1905, the present work is believed to be the only contemporary portrait, in any medium, of Dismorr.
