Arthur Clifton Goodwin (American, 1864–1929) "Fulton Wharf"

    Est: $2,000 - $4,000

Arthur Clifton Goodwin (American, 1864–1929) Fulton Wharf Oil painting on canvas Late 19th-Early 20th century Measurements: 25 1/2" H x 29 1/2" W; frame 32" H x 36" W This oil on canvas painting by Arthur Clifton Goodwin depicts Fulton Wharf, rendered with the atmospheric handling and painterly naturalism associated with American Impressionism in the early 20th century. The composition reflects Goodwin’s noted interest in harbor and landscape subjects, with an emphasis on light, mood, and place. Arthur Clifton Goodwin was an American painter known for his atmospheric landscapes and coastal views, particularly of New England. Associated with the Boston School and influenced by American Impressionism, his work emphasizes light, tonal harmony, and naturalistic observation. Goodwin was especially recognized for his depictions of harbors, wharves, and rural scenery, capturing the changing effects of light and season with a restrained, painterly approach.
