John Gould Sold at Auction Prices

American wildlife and graphic artist John F. Gould (b.1906) painted Hudson River wildlife and illustrations for many magazines during his 70-year career. In 1929, he began teaching at his alma mater, Pratt Institute. During his 20 years there, he continued to work as an illustrator for low-budget magazines, contributing to a large number of John Gould lithographs for sale online.

After the 1950s, he began to do work for Outdoor Life, and John Gould prints available at that time were predominantly of birds and other natural scenery of the historic Hudson River. John Gould's prints also include his famous paintings, such as Eagles Over West Point, that depicts majestic eagles gliding over the military academy.
