Sydney Griffin Sold at Auction Prices

Sydney Griffin (1854-1910) was a cartoonist for Truth magazine in New York City around the turn of the century. He illustrated the back cover with insightful cartoons which the magazine became known for. One of his co-workers was Rose O'Neill, who later went on to create the Kewpie doll characters. Griffin was a regular contributor to many other magazines, and his artwork is respected for its humorous quality.
