          Fred Harman, Jr. (1902 - 1982) Cookin Supper Oil on Canvas. Best known for his comic strip Red Ryder and Little Beaver, Fred Harman was also a noted painter of scenes of the American West. In 1938 he started the syndicated cartoon of Red Ryder and Little Beaver, which was published for twenty-four years in 750 daily newspapers and reached 40 million readers. He became one of the first members of the Cowboy Artists of America and was also a member of the National Cartoonist Society and the Society of Illustrators. Rene Tener signed oil painting. This original oil painting has been repaired and restored at some point. Area measuring 2-1/2" x 1-12" left center appears to have been a repair to canvas loss.
