The scene depicts the care of soldiers after the Battle of Barnet on April 15, 1471, during the Wars of the Roses, which pitted the Houses of Lancaster and York against each other for the English throne.

Henry Hawkins - Gründungsmitglied der Society of British Artists im Jahr 1824 und stellte dort bis zu seinem Tod regelmäßig aus.
