    Late 20th Century; Original, 3.75” height by 3.25” width Original ceramic cup with drawing by North Carolina artist Mary Lou Higgins (1926-2012). This ceramic cup has three female faces drawn around the outside and a repetitive linear design that resembles a rainbow for the background that continues inside the cup. Silver gilt adorns the edges on the bottom and top of the cup as well as the bottom of the inside. On the outside, the left figure wears a green shirt, has green and black hair, and looks at the viewer. The middle figure wears a blue shirt, has yellow, orange, and green hair, and looks to the left. The right figure wears a yellow shirt, has black and blue hair, and looks at the viewer. The background on the outside is white with blue-black lines while the inside has a light blue background with the same blue-black lines. The overall style of the piece leans toward Medievalism as the faces lack any distinct features, are repetitive, and simplified.     Mid 20th Century; Original, 18.5” height by 17.75” width Original ceramic wall sculpture with drawing by North Carolina artist Mary Lou Higgins (1926-2012). This ceramic sculpture is comprised of six sections, each demarcated by golden gilt around the edges with individual drawings in each section. The left section has two quail birds standing in the grass with a blue, cloudy sky. Where this section meets the bottom and the middle-right section the panels fold outward, giving a curved appearance. The middle-left section has three female heads that appear to float in the sky. Two of these faces look to the right while one looks at the viewer. The bottom section has a grassy field with a blue, cloudy sky and three birds in mid-flight. The middle-right section has two female figures with one in profile and the other facing the viewer. The one facing the viewer is wearing a red polka dot dress and waves one hand near her face and the other across her body. The top of this section also was molded to curve upward. The right section has a tree with a small black bird perched in the branches and one flying near it. The last section is the smallest with six blue flowers. The overall style of the piece leans toward Medievalism as the faces lack any distinct features, are repetitive, and simplified.
