Morris Henry Hobbs (American, 1892-1967), Patio, Toulouse Street, Old New Orleans. Engraving on paper depicting a detailed courtyard scene identified as 625-30 Toulouse Street in the French Quarter. The composition features classic architectural elements including arched masonry, wrought iron details, lush plantings, and a central staircase. The work is signed in pencil in the lower right and titled in the lower left. It is presented under glass in a decorative frame with wide matting. Approximate sight size 7" x 5". Dimensions: 19.5 X 16.5 X 1 in. Condition: Good overall condition with typical age-related toning. The work has not been examined outside of the frame. Paperwork: Attached en verso of Riviere's is a certificate of authenticity from Merrill Chase Galleries. Condition: Scattered foxing, mat burn, and water damage to the lower margin of the matting and frame of Riviere's. Rembrandt's has a large stain along its left margin.
