Hussmann studierte an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin und widmete sich fast ausschließlich Pferde- und Reitermotiven. Er zählte zu den bedeutenden Tierplastikern der Moderne. Albert Hinrich Hussmann 1874 Lüdingworth - 1946 Fürstenberg - Reiter auf Pferd - Bronze. Braun patiniert. Marmor. H. o./m. Sockel 43/53 cm. Auf der Plinthe sign.: Albert Heinrich Hussmann, W.N. Ber. Am Sockel best. - Lit.: Th.-B. XVIII, S. 182. Hussmann studierte in Berlin bei W. Friedrich, P. Meyerheim und G. Janensch. Er war Mitbegründer der Zunft St. Lukas. Tierdarstellungen insbesondere Reiterszenen schuf der Künstler. Seit 1899 war er auf der Grossen Berliner Kunstausstellung regelmäßig vertreten. Die Titel der Arbeiten lauten u.a. Don Quijote, Kentaur, Parsival und totes Rennen. 1914 erhielt Hussmann für eine Reiterfigur die Goldene Medaille.
