      SCARCE MONUMENTAL PATRIOTIC LITHOGRAPH - "Washington's Triumphal Entry into New York, Nov. 25th, 1783", by Christian Inger (ca.1814-1895), signed in the print lower left, published by George T. Perry in 1860, printed in oil colors by P.S Duval Sons in Philadelphia. In the original red walnut frame with gilt liner, under glass, OS: 40" x 52", SS: 33 1/2" x 45 1/2". Toned, repaired tear and stains to lower margin. These large scale prints were for display in public buildings, part of the doomed attempt to hold the country together by appealing to Revolutionary War patriotism, this was issued the year before the war began.
