Work published on the occasion of the exhibition "Invader Space Station", Paris, February 17 - May 5, 2024. Presents stamp on the back and preserves original packaging. Measurements: 10 x 10 cm (tile); 12 x 13,5 cm (packaging). "Camo Space Tile" (2024) is a ceramic tile that combines black, red and white tesserae in a composition that refers to camouflage patterns, reinterpreted with Invader's own playful and contemporary approach. The piece was edited as a result of the exhibition "Invader Space Station" in Paris (February 17 to May 5, 2024), which took place in the former offices of the newspaper Libération and featured numerous works by the artist, including photos, videos, sculptures and installations. Invader is an urban artist of French origin whose identity is unknown. He rose to fame for his ceramic tile mosaics inspired by the pixel art of 8-bit video games from the 1970s and 1980s, many of which depict the titular aliens from the arcade games Space Invaders, Pac-Man and Super Mario Bros. To accompany his citywide installations, or "Invasions," Invader publishes books and maps as guides to the locations of his mosaics. Invader also makes mosaics using QR codes and stacks of Rubik's cubes (the latter usually installed indoors). Invader sees himself as a "hacker" of public space spreading a mosaic "virus." He believes that museums and galleries are not accessible to everyone, so he installs his work at street level. Sites for his mosaics are often chosen for their visibility, local interest and symbolism. No two pieces are alike Although many of his works feature his signature aliens. Invader is an urban artist of French origin whose identity is unknown. He achieved fame for his ceramic tile mosaics inspired by the pixel art of 8-bit video games from the 1970s and 1980s, many of which depict the titular aliens from the arcade games Space Invaders, Pac-Man and Super Mario Bros. To accompany his citywide installations, or "Invasions," Invader publishes books and maps as guides to the locations of his mosaics. Invader also makes mosaics using QR codes and stacks of Rubik's cubes (the latter usually installed indoors). Invader sees himself as a "hacker" of public space spreading a mosaic "virus." He believes that museums and galleries are not accessible to everyone, so he installs his work at street level. Sites for his mosaics are often chosen for their visibility, local interest and symbolism. No two pieces are alike Although many of his works feature his signature aliens.
