Biography

Artist Louis Jambor's talents began to shine at an early age, and after studying at the Royal Academy of Art in Budapest, he moved to the United States in 1922. Louis Jambor's paintings often portrayed religious images, as he was well known for his decorative murals in various churches and buildings in Hungary and America — his two main places of residence. Louis Jambor's paintings have a classical, post-impressionistic style and the artist created unique light and shade by clever use of subtle colors. Jambor's most famous image was for the cover of the novel Little Women in 1947. Louis Jambor's painting prices at auction are reasonable for an artist of his caliber.
