Born in Cap Haitien, he first studied in the studio of the renowned Philome Obin. Two years later he went to study in Port-au-Prince, joining the artists of the Centre d’Art. The central vévé depicts a sacred bull, possibly Bossou, a loa associated with strength and protection, surrounded by symbols, stars, crosses, and celestial motifs in gold, silver, and black beads. Beaded initials and inscriptions appear in the corners. Drapo Vodou are used in rituals, ceremonies, and altars to honor loas. Likely originating from Port-au-Prince or Croix-des-Bouquets, this piece is presented under glass in an ornate frame. Approximate sight size: 29" x 45.75". Dimensions: 43.5 X 59 X 1.5 in.
