Abell AuctionHeriberto Juarez (1932-2008) Caballo Limited Edition Bronze Sculpture. #4/10. Heriberto Juárez a painter and sculptor, was a self-taught artist who became one of the great exponents of twentieth-century Mexican art with the philosophy that it must have an intrinsic national sense. His work, both pictorial and sculptural, is influenced by the theme bullfighting because in his youth he tried to be a bullfighter, however his career as a novillero was cut short by an accident that made him lose his leg. That is why Juarez's theme is based fundamentally on four main figures: pigeons, bulls, horses and the human figure. Through his intense colors and compositions, Heriberto Juárez reflected the joy with which the constant evolution of the Mexican being is celebrated and lived. Signed H. Juarez 4-10 on base. Approx. Net Weight: 11lbs Keywords: Art, Bronze Sculpture, Sculptures, Mid Century Modern; Ref: BD1043
